About Us

TEAM

Katharina:
Grew up all over the world. After studying communications and
journalism, ended up writing about art and then fashion in New York.
Decided to bring the designers she loved to Switzerland and opened
SEPTIEME ETAGE in July 2000.  She lives in Geneva and sets time aside
to keep traveling.  She likes to work on her days off.

Louise:
Our cool as a cucumber manager. She will ride in on her bike, answer
three shipping queries, find you THE dress for your sister's wedding,
give you a honest rundown of the latest rock concerts, resolve an
insurance overcharge , calculate the salaries, change light bulbs on a
4 meter high ladder, crack some great jokes, smoke a pack of
Parisiennes, all before her morning coffee break. She was born as the
designated driver, and has to fend off people trying to give her their
house keys.

Caroline:

Caroline is our Norwegian-French newcomer. Which might explain why, in true Wonderwoman style, she prefers getting up every morning for an hour’s run along the lake instead of our usual coffee and cigarettes. She will, impeccably dressed, hammer feathers into display cases, work the photo studio, and share with you her spot-on sense of style (honed at Vogue and Prada). AND we just discovered that she was born to make Christmas wreaths of such beauty that they make the Alber Elbaz Christmas tree for Claridge’s look a little uninspired. Actually we wonder if she secretly IS Santa.

Victoire:
A born and bred Parisian. She has danced on stage with Pharrel and has
a lot of tattoos, which she says is to avoid looking like a twelve
year old. One of them has inspired her own brand: check out her site
www.onlyetwilljudgeme.com. She is our little miss chatterbox and
inhabits a balloon filled wonderland in which all customers become
tiara twirling princesses. Our in-house tech geek, she has also
single-handedly demounted and remounted several crashed computers, and
she also makes sure we do not listen to lounge music.

Laure:
Laure has magic fingers. We are thankful she did not become a
puppeteer, and instead earned a fashion design degree and now on her
days off sows fairytale creations of her own. She keeps order in our
address and computer files, and meticulously finesses photos for the
site just so. With an incredible eye for detail, she is the one to pin
your dress and tell you if it fits right, and hands down best person
to cut you a piece of cake.

Dawn:
Dawn is our in-house Britchick. She can style you like Kate Moss,
knows all about the latest “Hello!” stories, and since she is really
nice she will divulge secret locations for gathering marmite and share
her styling resources for her curly headed boy Dexy.

Combined we speak French, English, German, and a bit of Italian. If
those are not your means of communication we will gladly point at
things and will be there if you need help, an honest opinion, or just
a smile.

Web

Carol:

Carol hails from NY, worked for 9 years at PAPER magazine as a creative director and writer, and loves making ceramic wonders in Alexander Wang gowns. When she is not creating porcelain miracles, she is now delicately composing most funky texts and visuals for our site. We make her try on every piece before she writes about it -it is a tough job, but Carol handles it with grace and humor, and we know she can persevere (she beat several customers to our prettiest grey wooly hat).

Windows

Alexandra:
Our window wizard. An artist, filmmaker, former Margiela model, and
gallerist, she is an invaluable resource for brilliant ideas, bananas,
lobsters, and if need be, a hospital bed. She knows just where to get
a steel plate cut, and her first window project for us involved the
Grimm fairy tales entirely made of gingerbread.

Interns

Zoe:
The definition of “sassy” in our dictionary. Sweetnaturedly organized
11 years of photographs from events and fashionshows into rose covered
albums, reviewed our press files, and re-styled our mannequins.

Anya:
We knew her when she was building butterfly houses when she was six.
This budding artist and photographer is now following into her mother
Arianne’s creative footsteps, and took time from preparing for her
exams to help us take 500 pictures of clothes and of the kites we flew
in the park. One to watch!

Katherine:
Discovered during our private school casting for the Lorick
fashion show a few years back, Katherine has since started to study
Communication Design at Parson’s School of Design in New York.  She has cheerfully
spent most of her summer vacation inputting and designing pages for
our website while we were taking care of running the store and having
ice cream. Has a gift for asking all the right questions and then
finding the answers on her own. She just raised the bar for future
interns to Mount Everest.

Justine:

Justine, who spent one month making paper loops with the utmost cheerfulness, patience, and style, and got Santa his cookies. And what can we say , how can we not love a girl who spends her last cent on shoes.
